The idea that a library can reach beyond the walls of a single church and join forces with others to strengthen the faith community of an entire region has inspired a powerful response.
Ten people helped create the electronic catalog by downloading information from the Library of Congress about each of the library's 5,000 books and DVDs. It was a yearlong effort. Another dozen moved every book and DVD to a new location in a day and a half. People donated furniture, toys and computer networking expertise. Others keep the library tidy. And Library Committee members offer service and guidance every day of the week. Some volunteers are people with great experience. Others merely have a great desire to be involved.
Generous start-up funding has been provided by the Good Is Not Good Enough program at First United Methodist Church of Fort Collins; the church's own foundation; and individuals.
Now even more help is needed for the library to fulfill its mission: to help members of the church and the wider community lead lives that are faithful to God by providing resources that educate, inspire and refresh. If you believe that faith formation is central to the life of the church, we invite you to join us in this extraordinary adventure. Volunteer Opportunities
